Grants

Grants are financial aid monies that do not have to be paid back. The federal government and the state of Pennsylvania provide grants to eligible students. See details below.

BC3 Alumni Emergency Fund

The BC3 Alumni Emergency Fund and the Emergency Grant Aid Fund provides support to students who may have unplanned expenses that affect their ability to attend or continue to attend BC3.  Please complete the application and email the form to financialaid@bc3.edu or bring the form directly into the financial aid office located in the student services building first floor.  To qualify you must:

  • Completed the FAFSA for the current academic year.
  • Have earned at least 6 credits at BC3.
  • Have a minimum GPA 2.0.
  • Be enrolled in 6+ credits at BC3.

Federal Pell Grant

Federal Pell Grant monies do not have to be repaid. In order to qualify for a Pell Grant you must:

  • Complete a FAFSA.
  • Enroll in credit courses in an approved program of study.
  • Submit any requested paperwork to the BC3 Financial Aid Office (as requested through your BC3 email).
  • Demonstrate financial need (calculated by the Federal Government when you submit a FAFSA).

You are not eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant if you are:

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

Federal SEOG Grants are available to students with exceptional need. Any student wishing to be considered for this grant must:

  • Enroll at least half-time (6 or more credits).
  • Demonstrate Pell Grant eligibility.

Pennsylvania State Grant Program

Like the Federal Pell Grant, the PA State Grant monies do not have to be repaid. In order to be considered for the PA State Grant you must:

  • Be a Pennsylvania resident for at least a year.
  • Submit a FAFSA by May 1st.
  • Submit a Status Notice.
  • Enroll in a two-year Associate Degree Program.
  • Enroll at least half-time (6 or more credits).
  • Make satisfactory academic progress according to the PA State Grant Policy guidelines (different than academic progress).
