Welding Certificate
Gain the theoretical knowledge and hands-on application necessary to adjoin similar and dissimilar metals, and perform a variety of other tasks associated with welding. Be prepared for entry-level welding positions in manufacturing and industrial firms, construction, fabrication shops, and building/construction trade unions.

- Occupational orientation and safety
- Principles of welding
- Welding print reading
Certification Process
Students will attempt one American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 certification on 1" plate on choice of one process option below:
- Option 1 - GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding/MIG)* or
- Option 2 - GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding/TIG)* or
- Option 3 - SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding/Stick) or
- Option 4 - FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)
*MIG and TIG options with instructor recommendation

Costs and Requirements
Cost: $4,000 (plus $2 registration fee)
Includes class materials and 1 attempt at chosen certification.
Requirements:
Students must comply with BC3 Student Code of Conduct and BCAVTS policies and procedures.
Welder’s Kit: $280 (Optional)
Students can purchase this kit through BC3 or on their own (subject to inspection to meet minimum standards required for this
certificate).
